Description / Requirements
Project: Healthcare Interpretation Support
Role Type: Live Over-the-Phone interpretation 

This  is hiring Interpretation Support Associates fluent in Mandarin/Cantonese and English for a healthcare-based interpretation process. The role involves providing accurate, real-time, over-the-phone consecutive interpretation between doctors and patients based in the US.



The interpreter will support live calls and ensure smooth communication between English-speaking healthcare professionals  -speaking patients. This is a professional interpretation role that requires strong language fluency, active listening, neutrality, confidentiality, and the ability to handle sensitive or urgent healthcare convwersations with composure.

Position Details

Industry/Process: Healthcare / Interpretation / BPO / Customer Support
Work Location: Work From Home
Working Days: 5 days per week, Monday to Friday
Weekly Off: Saturday and Sunday
Shift: Permanent Night Shift
Shift Timings: 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM / 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM
Shift Allowance: RM 25 per night
Contract: 6 months + 12 months renewable


Key Responsibilities


1_Provide real-time, meaning-for-meaning consecutive interpretation over the phone between English speakers and Mandarin/Cantonese speakers.
2_Interpret conversations primarily in the healthcare domain, including communication between doctors, medical staff, and patients.
3_Ensure accurate interpretation without adding, omitting, summarizing, or changing the meaning of the speaker’s message.
4_Maintain a first-person interpretation style to ensure clear and natural communication between both parties.
5_Handle calls related to medical discussions, patient concerns, insurance, emergency situations, finance, and other support scenarios as required.
6-Maintain professionalism, correct tone, pace, and clarity throughout live interpretation calls.
7-Follow all interpreter protocols, company policies, confidentiality guidelines, and industry ethics.
8_Remain neutral during all calls and avoid giving personal opinions, suggestions, or advice.
9-Manage urgent, stressful, emotionally sensitive, or emergency healthcare calls calmly and professionally.
10_Build and maintain strong terminology knowledge related to healthcare, medical services, insurance, and other OPI use cases.
11_Attend mandatory training, quality reviews, coaching sessions, and feedback discussions.
12_Improve performance based on QA evaluations, supervisor feedback, and coaching inputs.
13_Ensure reliable attendance, schedule adherence, and timely completion of assigned tasks.
14_Work independently in a remote work environment while maintaining regular communication with supervisors and team members.
15_Ensure strict compliance with privacy, confidentiality, and data protection requirements.
