Six Sigma Black Belt – Payroll Process Improvement

Location: Chennai

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Six Sigma Black Belt professional with strong expertise in payroll process improvement. The ideal candidate will lead process improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma methodologies to enhance payroll efficiency, accuracy, compliance, and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Process Improvement

Lead Six Sigma projects to streamline payroll operations, reduce processing time, and minimize errors.
Apply DMAIC methodology to identify and eliminate process inefficiencies.
Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs), process documentation, and training programs.

2. Data Analysis & Reporting

Analyze payroll data to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
Establish and monitor KPIs related to payroll accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
Present findings and actionable recommendations to senior management.

3. Automation & Technology Integration

Collaborate with IT and payroll teams to implement automation solutions.
Evaluate technologies to improve data accuracy, operational efficiency, and productivity.
Identify opportunities to reduce manual intervention in payroll processes.

4. Compliance & Risk Management

Ensure payroll operations comply with internal policies, tax regulations, and labor laws.
Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify compliance gaps.
Implement corrective and preventive measures to minimize operational risks.

5. Training & Leadership

Train and mentor payroll team members on Six Sigma methodologies and process improvement techniques.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple improvement projects simultaneously.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB) or equivalent certification.
Minimum 5 years of experience in process improvement, specifically within payroll operations.
Strong knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies and DMAIC.
Proficiency in data analysis and statistical tools such as Minitab and Microsoft Excel.
In-depth understanding of payroll processes, systems, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

Preferred Skills

Experience in payroll or HR-related industries.
Project management experience.
Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring abilities.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
