Job Title: Manager, Media Asset Prep (M2)
Location: Bangalore
Experience: 5–10+ Years (with minimum 2+ years in team handling)

Group Overview:
The DEE Tech Mastering team is responsible for acquiring, mastering, and archiving content produced by major studios including Hulu, Disney Branded Television, ABC Signature, 20th Television, FX Productions, Freeform, and other third-party production entities. The Media Asset Prep team operates in a 24/7/365 environment within Disney Mastering.
Job Summary:
The Manager, Media Asset Prep will lead shift-based teams responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of media assets, including ingest, conformance, editorial processing, encoding, transcoding, validation, and packaging. This role involves close collaboration with internal teams and external vendors to ensure delivery of high-quality, spec-compliant media assets while maintaining operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee end-to-end media asset processing in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
Manage ingest, acquisitions, editorial processing, encoding, transcoding, and packaging activities
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team
Ensure quick resolution of issues related to file integrity, media attributes, and compliance
Collaborate with engineering and IT teams for system maintenance and future enhancements
Track productivity and define SLAs, KPIs, and best practices
Plan and scale resources, tools, and infrastructure based on business requirements
Role Duties:
Manage a team of media operators
Collaborate with leadership to define and implement best practices
Identify and recommend future equipment and resource needs
Required Education & Skills:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree (Media / Cinema / Post Production preferred)
Experience & Skills:
5+ years in media encoding, transcoding, or editing
Minimum 2+ years of team management experience
Strong understanding of mastering, QC, and delivery formats (ProRes, IMF)
Experience with NLE tools and mastering workflows
Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
Knowledge of SQL, Python, or command-line tools is an added advantage
