Job Description: Senior Manager – General Ledger
Location: Chennai One
Shift: 6:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Experience: 12–15 Years
Salary Package: Up to ₹28–35 LPA (depending on experience & current CTC)
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager – General Ledger to lead end-to-end GL operations. The role involves ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and timely closure of financial cycles. You will also lead a team, improve processes, and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead General Ledger activities including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
* Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes within deadlines
* Ensure compliance with GAAP / IFRS / Ind AS and internal policies
* Review balance sheet reconciliations and resolve variances
* Handle financial reporting and support internal & external audits
* Drive automation and process improvement initiatives
* Collaborate with AP, AR, FP&A, and Tax teams
* Ensure SOX compliance and strong internal controls
* Manage stakeholder communication and escalations
* Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team
Eligibility Criteria
* Minimum 15 years of full-time education (10+2+3)
* Graduation in Finance/Accounts (B.Com, M.Com or similar)
* Experience: 12–15 years in General Ledger / Finance roles
Must-Have Skills
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Knowledge of IFRS / GAAP / Ind AS
Experience in:
* Journal preparation
* Reconciliation
* Financial reporting
* Month-end close activities
* Ability to work under pressure and manage timelines
Good-to-Have
* Trial Balance knowledge
* P&L review and consolidation experience
Technical Skills
* Month-end close & reporting
* Balance sheet reconciliation
* Fixed assets accounting
* Intercompany accounting
* Audit coordination
* Financial statement preparation
* ERP knowledge (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
Preferred Experience
* Shared services / BPO / Global finance operations
* Multi-country accounting exposure
* Handling large teams (10+ members)

* Timely and accurate financial close
* Reduction in reconciliation gaps
* Audit compliance and observations
* Process improvements and efficiency
* Team productivity and retention
