About the Role
Keep global supply chains moving. As a Buyer in our Supply Chain Management team, you’ll own the end‑to‑end procurement cycle—from requisition to purchase order—ensuring the right materials reach the right place at the right time and price. You’ll negotiate with suppliers, run competitive RFQs, and collaborate with technical stakeholders across continents, all while balancing cost, quality, and delivery. This is a permanent US‑shift role based in Powai, Mumbai, offering you the chance to drive strategic sourcing and supplier performance for a world‑class organization. If you thrive in a fast‑paced, analytical, and relationship‑driven environment, this is your opportunity to make a tangible impact.
What You’ll Do
Own the PR‑to‑PO Process: Translate requisitions into accurate purchase orders in our ERP system. You’ll manage the entire workflow—from understanding the need to issuing compliant POs—ensuring seamless procurement execution.
Run Strategic RFQs: When working with non‑contracted suppliers, you’ll lead the RFQ process to secure optimal terms, compare bids, and benchmark costs. Your analytical eye will spot the best value while maintaining quality.
Negotiate & Manage Suppliers: You’ll negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules, and take charge of supplier performance management. Developing new suppliers based on delivery experience at various ports will help expand our global coverage.
Forecast & Allocate Volumes: Use annual spend data to forecast demand and allocate volumes, applying the 4R principle—Right price, Right place, Right time, Right quantity—to every transaction.
Stakeholder Partnership: Engage daily with technical teams, addressing concerns promptly and building rapport even in challenging situations. You’ll optimize vessel budgets and ensure all pressing matters receive the urgency they deserve.
Collaborate Globally: Work with colleagues across time zones, acting with agility while handling multiple tasks within tight deadlines. Your customer‑focused mindset will keep internal partners satisfied and operations running smoothly.
What You’ll Bring
Procurement Expertise: 4–7 years in supply chain or procurement roles, with a strong grasp of sourcing, PR‑to‑PO cycles, RFP/RFQ management, and ERP systems.
Communication Excellence: Outstanding English verbal and written skills—you can influence stakeholders, negotiate confidently, and maintain productive relationships with suppliers and colleagues worldwide.
Analytical & Negotiation Skills: You evaluate supplier terms, compare costs, and benchmark data with ease. Your negotiation style secures wins without burning bridges.
Stakeholder Management: Demonstrated ability to work with technical organizations, manage expectations, and deliver results in a high‑pressure environment.
Agility & Detail Focus: You juggle multiple priorities without losing sight of the details. Time management and a structured approach are second nature.
Domain Knowledge (Preferred): Familiarity with logistics, vessel operations, customs regulations, and non‑purchasing topics such as technical insight or marine operations is a strong advantage.
Education: Any full‑time graduate degree.
Shift Commitment: Fully comfortable with a permanent US shift (5:00 PM to 3:00 AM IST). Night shift allowance is provided.
