Job Description:

Make your mark on a team that delivers an exceptional mortgage origination experience for Private Bank clients.

As an Assistant Vice President, Mortgage Operations within the Private Bank Mortgage Operations team, you will lead the end-to-end mortgage origination operating rhythm for a portfolio of complex loans. You will partner closely with stakeholders across the origination lifecycle to ensure accurate execution, effective risk management, and timely funding.

Job responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end mortgage origination operations from initial file intake through closing and funding.
• Oversee daily pipeline management, prioritization, and issue escalation to support on-time delivery.
• Review complex files and apply subject matter expertise to nonstandard income, asset, and collateral scenarios.
• Partner with underwriting, processing, closing, and mortgage solutions teams to remove blockers and improve handoffs.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and control standards throughout the origination lifecycle.
• Maintain quality control standards, including documentation accuracy and audit readiness.
• Manage and develop an operations team through coaching, performance management, and skill building.
• Identify operational risks and implement corrective actions and sustainable process improvements.
• Produce clear status updates and metrics to support transparency and decision-making.
• Provide management coverage as needed, including serving as a backup for senior leadership.
• Supports 5-10 FTEs

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

• Ten years of mortgage operations experience.
• Five years of people leadership experience in an operations environment.
• With strong interracial management experience
• Extensive people management experience
• With strong US Mortgage experience
• Experience in doing projects with strong process efficiency experience.
• Proven ability to manage a pipeline, prioritize competing deadlines, and resolve escalations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex topics clearly
• Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements while maintaining quality and controls.
• Proficiency with mortgage origination systems and operational reporting tools.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

• Experience supporting a private bank or wealth management client segment.
• Experience using data visualization tools for operational reporting (for example, Tableau or Power BI).
• Experience partnering with technology teams to improve mortgage workflow tools and automation.
• Project management experience supporting operational transformation initiatives
