About the Role

We’re seeking a seasoned Senior Mainframe System Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize enterprise mainframe systems.

This position involves working with IBM z/OS, AS400 (IBM iSeries), and related mainframe technologies to ensure system stability, high availability, and seamless integration with business operations.

You may also lead a team and play a key role in mentoring and developing mainframe skills within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Administer and maintain IBM z/OS and AS400 systems, ensuring peak performance and availability.

Perform system monitoring, capacity planning, and performance tuning.

Manage system backups, disaster recovery, and high-availability configurations.

Implement security policies, manage user access controls, and ensure audit compliance.

Collaborate with application and network teams for system integration and troubleshooting.

Schedule, monitor, and manage batch jobs.

Apply system patches, firmware updates, and software upgrades.

Maintain comprehensive documentation of configurations, procedures, and change logs.

Provide technical support for incidents, root cause analysis, and problem resolution.

Participate in on-call rotation and after-hours maintenance.

Lead training initiatives to enhance skill development within the team.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years in Mainframe System Administration.

Technical Expertise:

IBM z/OS operating system and subsystems

AS400 / IBM iSeries administration

IBM mainframe hardware/software management

CICS and VSAM experience

Familiarity with monitoring tools and ITIL processes

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred:

IBM Certified System Administrator – z/OS or AS400

Experience in mainframe modernization, virtualization, or cloud integration

Knowledge of Control-M, CA-7, or other job scheduling tools

Exposure to DevOps in legacy environments

Other Requirements

Must not be a job hopper (i.e., less than one year per company)

Must not be a current or former employee of Accenture

Must be eligible to work in the Philippines and currently residing in the country
