Data Engineer – SSRS / MSSQL

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Experience: 3–5 Years

Job Summary

We are hiring a Data Engineer – SSRS / MSSQL with strong experience in SSRS, Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, and SSIS. The role focuses on reporting development, SQL/ETL processes, system integration, automation, and production support.

Candidates with banking or financial services experience are preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain SSRS reports, including paginated and parameterised reports.
Manage report subscriptions, scheduling, datasets, and data sources.
Develop and optimise T-SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers.
Develop, deploy, and troubleshoot SSIS/ETL packages.
Support SQL Server Agent jobs, scheduled processes, and batch operations.
Troubleshoot reporting, SQL, ETL, and production issues.
Support system integrations, data mapping, reconciliation, and file-based interfaces.
Handle SFTP/SSH file transfers and PGP/GPG encryption/decryption.
Develop automation using PowerShell and Python.
Ensure reporting accuracy, data integrity, and timely delivery of business/regulatory reports.
Work with business and technical teams to understand requirements and deliver reporting solutions.

Required Skills

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or a related field.
3–5 years of Microsoft SQL Server experience.
Strong hands-on SSRS development experience.
Advanced T-SQL and SQL query optimisation.
Strong knowledge of SSIS and ETL.
Experience with SQL Server Agent.
Experience with stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers.
Production reporting/support experience.
Knowledge of SFTP/SSH, PGP/GPG, PowerShell, and Python.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
