About the Role

We are hiring Interpretation Support Associates fluent in Cantonese and English for a healthcare-based interpretation process. The role involves providing accurate, real-time, over-the-phone consecutive interpretation between healthcare professionals and patients based in the US.

The interpreter will support live calls and ensure smooth communication between English-speaking healthcare professionals and Cantonese-speaking patients. This role requires strong language fluency, active listening, neutrality, confidentiality, and the ability to handle sensitive or urgent healthcare conversations professionally.

Key Responsibilities

Provide real-time, meaning-for-meaning consecutive interpretation over the phone between English and Cantonese speakers.
Interpret healthcare-related conversations involving doctors, medical staff, patients, insurance, and other support scenarios.
Accurately interpret messages without adding, omitting, summarizing, or changing the speaker's meaning.
Maintain a first-person interpretation style for clear and natural communication.
Maintain appropriate tone, pace, pronunciation, and clarity throughout calls.
Handle sensitive, stressful, urgent, and emergency healthcare conversations calmly and professionally.
Remain neutral and unbiased and avoid providing personal opinions, suggestions, or advice.
Maintain strong terminology knowledge related to healthcare, medical services, insurance, and OPI use cases.
Follow interpreter protocols, company policies, confidentiality requirements, and professional ethics.
Attend mandatory training, quality reviews, coaching sessions, and feedback discussions.
Improve performance based on QA evaluations and supervisor feedback.
Maintain reliable attendance and schedule adherence.
Work independently in a remote environment while maintaining communication with supervisors and team members.
Follow privacy, confidentiality, and data protection requirements.

Eligibility

High School Graduate, SPM, Diploma, or Bachelor's Degree.
Freshers and experienced candidates can apply.
Candidates with experience in interpretation, translation, healthcare, customer service, contact centers, BPO, media, or journalism are preferred.
Comparable professional experience may also be considered.
Must be fluent in Cantonese and English.
Must be comfortable working permanent night shifts.
Must be able to work from home with a stable internet connection.
Candidates should have a quiet and private work environment suitable for handling confidential healthcare conversations.

Working Days: Monday to Friday
Weekly Off: Saturday and Sunday
Shift: Permanent Night Shift
Shift Timings: 9:00 PM–6:00 AM / 10:00 PM–7:00 AM
Contract: 6 months + 12 months renewable
