About the Role:

The objective is to onboard a Microsoft Azure Integration and Container Specialist to design, implement, and manage cloud-based integration solutions and containerised applications for ADB’s Integrated Disbursement System (IDS) modernisation. The role blends expertise in Azure services, containers, and integration technologies to deliver scalable, secure, and efficient services.

ADB’s Right Integration Pattern (RIP) will be applied, using Microsoft APIM, Azure Service Bus (ASB), and Azure Container Apps (ACA), with additional components such as Azure Data Factory, temporal.io, and Spring workflow.

The assignment’s primary aim is to implement RIP through Azure Container Apps to build a robust integration framework that enhances efficiency and reliability of cloud-based applications.

Key Focus Areas:

Azure Container Apps (ACA): Maintain containerised apps and microservices, using technologies like Dapr, KEDA, and Envoy for orchestration, scalability, and cost efficiency.

Azure Service Bus (ASB): Enable decoupled, reliable communication via queues and publish-subscribe topics, supporting event-driven architectures.

API Management (APIM): Create, publish, secure, and monitor APIs, ensuring effective lifecycle management and seamless integration between backend and API consumers.

Expected Achievements:

Deployment of a scalable, reliable integration pattern.

Improved resource management through Azure Resource Groups.

Enhanced performance via ACA and ASB.

Development of common services using the RIP framework.

Scope of Work / Responsibilities:

The RIP Developer will design, build, and implement scalable RIP solutions to support ADB’s digital transformation. Responsibilities include:

Translate project requirements into technical specifications.

Design and develop RIP software components.

Conduct testing and debugging to ensure performance.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams for system integration.

Provide technical support and troubleshooting.

Document processes, code changes, and configurations.

Ensure compliance with ADB standards and best practices.

Train and mentor junior developers in RIP technologies.

Deliverables include a fully functional RIP system with complete documentation and support materials.

Detailed Tasks / Expected Output:

Requirement Analysis: Conduct detailed project requirement analysis for Azure container applications.

Design & Architecture: Create design documents, including logical grouping of Azure services within Resource Groups.

Development & Configuration: Configure ACA for containerised apps with Dapr for state management and service invocation. Implement KEDA for autoscaling. Set up ASB for scalable communication.

API Management: Use APIM to create, publish, and secure APIs, ensuring accessibility and integration with backend systems.

Testing & QA: Perform functional and performance testing, implement automated testing for reliability.

Deployment & Monitoring: Deploy using Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation). Configure monitoring/logging (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).

Documentation & Training: Produce detailed documentation and deliver training sessions to ensure smooth adoption.

Requirements & Qualifications:

Essential Skills & Experience:

Proven experience deploying applications with ACA and ASB.

Strong knowledge of serverless containers, microservices, and event-driven architectures.

Proficiency with Dapr, KEDA, and Envoy.

Expertise in Azure Resource Groups, including provisioning, access, and cost management.

Hands-on experience with APIM for API lifecycle management.

Educational Background:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.

Advanced Azure certifications (Azure Developer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are desirable.

Additional Skills:

Experience with stateful app management and service invocation.

Familiarity with message queues and publish-subscribe patterns.

Knowledge of retry mechanisms and dead-letter queues (DLQ).
